Makongeni police on Friday arrested a 50-year-old woman has been arrested over the attack on her 70-year old husband in Gachagi clums, Thika West subcounty.
She was arrested together with her daughter.
The two are said to have stabbed Kioko Mutune on the head.
He was taken to Umma University Hospital, where he was treated and discharged.
“We found him lying on the ground, bleeding profusely. He was in real danger. We had to rush him to hospital where his injuries were treated before being discharged last evening,” area assistant chief Josephat Kamau said.
He said the wife accused Mutune of not providing for the family.
Kamau said the attack on Mutune by the wife and daughter was extreme and uncalled for.
He also appealed to spouses to solve their domestic feuds amicably.
Kamau said police are investigating.
