The national government has committed to upgrade the remaining part of the Embu Moi stadium to international standards.
The county government has already done 70 per cent construction work at the stadium.
Ministry of sports and heritage Cabinet Secretary, Rashid Echesa said that this would be one project in the ministry's plan to set up sports and talent academies in the grassroots.
Once upgraded, the stadium will have a tartan track with playing surface, modern stadium seats and a media centre.
The stadium will also consist of a swimming pool, a modern hotel and other social amenities.
Echesa said that he had held a meeting with governor Martin Wambora on the completion of the Moi stadium which will act as a sports arena in the county.
"We held discussions on how we can plan out programs that will set up talent academies to identify and nurture talents from the grassroots level in sports and performing arts," he said.
Wambora noted that youth are the backbone of the country's economy hence they should be supported in all possible ways.
"We have youth who are able in different ways, some in education, others in sports, others in music and others in other talents, this is the reason the county is offering talent and education support," he said.
The chief officer for youth empowerment and sport Sam Wachira said that the county was in the process of putting up a state of the art talent studio in Embu county.
