Most comfortable prisons in the world

When the name prison comes to many Kenyans minds most of the people tend to think of Kamiti, one of the most feared prisons in Kenya. However, what people may not know is that there are certain prisons around the world which are top notch and by that I mean they have exquisite standards and that they are executive prisons.

One might even think it is a hotel room or a millionaires room. They are comfortable, clean and services provided would even make some wish to stay there. They are:

1. Bastoy Prison

This prison located in Norway houses up to 100 inmates and offers luxurious facilities like tennis, horseback riding, fishing and sunbathing. They have a work farm which they also work on.

2. HMP Addiewell

The prison which is found in Scotland can accommodate up to  700 prisoners and is also one of the most luxurious prisons in the world. Each of its resident inmates 40 weekly hours of productive skill building. With a special focus on helping inmates transition back to civilian life.

3. Otago corrections facility

Otago prison provides its inmates with comfortable rooms and holds classes in light engineering, dairy farming, and cooking among other things, Otago strives to rehabilitate effectively. It is found in New Zealand.

4. Justice Center Leoben

Prisoners are offered a single cell, with a private bathroom, a kitchen, plus a television. Found in Austria it has a fully-equipped gym, basketball court and outdoor recreation area. Prisoners here might enjoy being behind bars more than in the outside world.

5. Aranjuez Prison

As prisons are known to rip families apart, the prison provides facilities where even kids can be accommodated inside. This innovative institution provides for infant children to live their first years with their incarcerated parents. The cribs have Disney characters on walls and kids have a play area.

It is found in Spain.
