    Central bank of Kenya is in the process of printing new currencies known as new generation Kenyan currencies.

    The new generation currency will see the notes and coins bear symbols rather than portraits of persons, something we are used to since Kenya attained her independence.

    Below is a breakdown of which symbols the new Kenyan coins will bear.

    KES 1 coin = Bears the image of a Giraffe

    KES 5 coin = Bears the image of a Rhino

    KES 10 coin = Bears the image of a Lion

    KES 20 coin = Bears the image of an Elephant.
