He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Ntuyabaliwe Mengi and two sons.

Jacqueline is a former 2000 Miss Tanzanian and musician. She is famed for hits like Crazy Over You and Nalia Kwa Furaha under the street moniker Klynn.

Financial pundits premise that Jacqueline will now be on f the richest women in Tanzania and Africa as Mengi's widow.

But away from her late husband's wealth, Jacqueline has made a name for herself as an entrepreneur.

She is an award winning furniture designer and chairman of Amorette Ltd a furniture design and manufacturing company.

Jacqueline is also the founder and chairman of Dr Ntuyabaliwe Foundation a charity organization which provides libraries and books to local primary schools.
