Sofapaka have been tossed out of Caf Confederation Cup after going down 1-2 to FC Platinum of Zimbabwe in return leg played at Mandala Stadium on Saturday.

Platinum will now advance to next phase of the competition on 4-2 aggregate having won first leg by similar margin a fortnight ago in Nairobi. Wisdom Mutasa grabbed a brace for home side while Farouk Razak scored for Sofapaka.

Platinum will now face Tanzanian side Young Africans in first round of the competition. Yanga advanced on Saturday after they beat Botswana Defence Forxe XI 2-1 to win 3-2 aggregate.

Despite taking an early lead through Fiston Rizak, the Kenyan side could not hold onto their narrow lead as Wisdom Mutasa struck twice to send his side to first round of the competition. The Kenyan side opened up the game eager to overturn first leg loss and make it to the first round.

Fiston Rizak gave them the lead after just four minutes when he scored with a low ground shot that caught the Platinum goalkeeper napping. The goal gave Sofapaka plenty of confidence as they went for more but in the process left their back side badly exposed allowing their opponents to make dangerous inroads into their goal.
