Zidane hachezi! Real Madrid sign Victor Wanyama in 70 million dollar deal

Victor Wanyama is one of Kenya's celebrated son's. The footballer who came from humble beginnings has risen the ranks of world football to become a premier mid-fielder. This has made many big European clubs notice him.

The defensive midfielder plays for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and captains the Kenyan national team. He will now play that role at Real Madrid after an audacious early move by the La Liga giants.

The move comes after season-long negotiations between the two clubs that Radiojambo.co.ke can now exclusively reveal. The 33-time record La Laga champions were so enamoured with the mercurial talent that they decided to lock him down even before the transfer period opens.

Victor Wanyama was the first ever Kenyan player to score in the UEFA Champions League when he scored the first goal in Celtic's 2–1 win over Barcelona on 7 November 2012. On 11 July 2013, Wanyama moved to Premier League club Southampton for £12.5 million making him the most expensive player sold by a Scottish club, surpassing the £9.5 million Russian club Spartak Moscow paid for Aiden McGeady in 2010.

He has earned over 40 caps for the Kenyan national team since making his international debut in May 2007 at the age of 15. His new salary at Real Madrid is reputed to be worth a humongous 18 million shillings a week!
