One dead, three injured in Kisumu-Busia road accident

One person died and three others sustained serious injuries following an accident involving two saloon cars and a truck that occurred on Monday in Lwanda along Kisumu-Busia road.

One car was towing the other  towards Kisumu when the truck transporting goods to Busia rammed  them killing one of the  occupants instantly.

John Barasa, a witness said the vehicle being towed hit the one transporting it in the rear, causing confusion that led to the accident with the truck.

Maseno Traffic Base Commander Hanninghton Mwazonga said the vehicle that was being towed to Kisumu had earlier been involved in a road accident at Ugunja in Siaya County.

He said the deceased  died on the spot while those injured in the accident are admitted at Maseno District Hospital.

Mwazonga said the  vehicles were taken to Maseno Police Station.
