ELGEYO MARAKWET: Kenya Power Disconnects Power Supply To More Than 200 Homes

More than 200 homes in Elgeyo Marakwet County have been cut off from power supply after they were found to have been illegally connected by fake agents claiming to be from the Rural Electrification Authority (REA).

The Kenya Power Company (KPC) staff stormed three villages and destroyed the illegal connections which cost the affected families more than KES 3 million.

Kenya Power Company regional official Anthony Mwangi said the connection were illegal and dangerous to users but the area Deputy Governor Dr Gabriel Lagat accused not handling the matter well.
