Speaking in Gathiruini primary school on Saturday during the funeral of the mother of Mount Kenya University chairman of the board of trustees Simon Gicharu, Sakaja said Igathe's resignation is the nature of leadership and emphasised that differences occurs sometimes even in marriages.
"The positions we hold are never for our own comfort or convenience but for the people we serve " he said.
He said the Senate will look at some sections of the law some which are not very clear and come up with the next cause of action and ensure that Nairobi and Nyeri counties have deputy governors.
Igathe resigned on Friday siting poor working relationship with governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko while the Nyeri deputy governors seat fell vacant after the deputy governor was sworn in as governor after the death of governor Wahome Gakuru
Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu caused laughter from the mourners who included Deputy President William Ruto when he said his deputy James Nyoro won't resign despite their relationship not being cosy.
"Deputy wangu hata resign ata kama tuko na shida hapa na pale na tutatomboa tu " he said
Waititu, Senator Kimani Wamatangi and MPs Kago Wa Lydia, Jude Jomo, Moses Kuria, Kimani Ichungwa and Nganga Kingara promised to back the DP in his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta iby2022.
The leaders described the late Mrs Alice Wambui Gicharu as hardworking, prayerful and a dedicated mother who brought up children who made great contribution to the country
"The greatness of a person is known by the kind of children they bring up " said Sakaja
Other leaders who attended the funeral were Water and Irrigation Minister Eugene Wamalwa and his Energy counterpart Keter and Energy PS Joseph Njoroge
