An arrest warrant has been issued against a Nairobi businessman after he failed to appear in court.

James Ndung'u is accused of threatening to kill Mercy Wanjiku, a hotel receptionist at a hotel in Kasarani, by pointing a loaded gun at her on April 13.

Ndung'u, who is a licensed firearm holder, is said to have asked Wanjiku to charge his phone at the hotel's reception.

He is alleged to have picked his phone after two hours but returned to the reception later and asked for the phone again.

Wanjiku however reminded him that he had already taken it and it was at that instant that Ndung'u drew his gun and threatened to shoot her claiming that she has stolen his phone.

The case will be mentioned on May 18 this year.
