Three traffic police officers have been arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission detectives after they were found taking bribes from matatu operators along the Eldoret -Webuye highway.
EACC deputy director Enoch Otiko said the three were arrested following complaints from matatu operators and members of the public in the area.
Those arrested included Phillip Kemboi, Wycliffe Wekesa and Eliud Cheruiyot.
"We had received a lot of complaints from matatu operators and wananchi causing us to stage the operation in which the three were arrested", said Otiko.
Cash suspected to have been collected from the operators was recovered from the suspects.
He said such operations would be intensified to stop graft on the roads.
