According to Kenya Railways, the standard gauge railway ticket prices are expected to shoot up by almost double the current amount.
Ticket prices for passengers travelling in the economy class will be increased from Sh700 to Sh1,200 with fare for the first class expected to remain at Sh. 3,000.
The announcement drew mixed reactions from Kenyans across all divide, with most expressing their disappointments while a section believe that the prices are still fair.
