Kenya Sevens player Augustine Lugonzo has been ruled out for three months with an ankle injury. The fly-half will therefore miss the Dubai and Port Elizabeth legs of the 2014-15 IRB Sevens Series in December.
His injury is a huge blow to the Kenya Sevens team as he was Kenya's ranked player at the just concluded Gold Coast Sevens. The Homeboyz player, who made three tries and conversion at Gold Coast, amassed 29 points and was the 15th best player overall.
Another player Maxwell Theuri of Kenya Harlequins will also be out for two months as he has to undergo surgery on his knee.
Kenya Sevens coach Paul Treu also confirmed that Fabian Olando's injury is not that serious and he will be fit for the next two series.
