Fifa Rankings: Kenya Drop Six places As Germany Takes Top Spot

Kenya has dropped six places to position 88 in the latest Fifa rankings released yesterday.

Stars drew 1-1 with Mozambique in friendly match early this month in Maputo to plummet the rankings. Following the draw, Mozambique dropped four places to position 108. Stars are placed 21 in Africa.

Seven-time African champions, Egypt are the highest ranked African side at position 30 bolstered by the 1-0 win over Uganda in Alexandria in a World cup qualifier recently.

Tunisia are ranked second on the continent and position 31 worldwide with Senegal third in and 33rd in the world. The Democratic Republic of Congo are ranked fourth on the continent with a resurgent Super Eagles placed fifth on the continent. African champions Cameroon are sixth with Burkina Faso, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Morocco completing the top 10. Regionally, Uganda are ranked 71st, Rwanda (118) and Tanzania (125) and Ethiopia 144.

World champions Germany top the world rankings followed by five time champions Brazil with European champions Portugal third. World Cup losing finalists Argentina, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, France, Chile and Colombia complete the top 10 with England dropping to 15.

Meanwhile, Stars are set to play friendly matches against Iraq and Thailand next month.
