A 16-year old boy is being held at Loruk police station for allegedly defiling a 7-year old girl at Ng’aratuko in Baringo North Sub-county on Sunday.

Loruk sub-location assistant Chief Samuel Kamuren confirmed the incident saying the Kenya Police Reservists (KPR) helped arrest the suspect adding that his other accomplice was still at large.

Kamuren said he got the information immediately they arrived home after successful mission to recover some stolen animals driven by suspected pokot bandits towards the neighbouring Tiaty Sub-county.

“I am told apart from bleeding, the girl also had some bruises in her legs and other parts of her body meaning there were some sought of struggles before the victim was done with the heinous act” said Kamuren

He said he heard that the girl was accompanied by her friend to fetch firewood in a nearby bush when the two boys descended on her.

“We hurriedly went to the boy’s home to arrest him and took him to Loruk station awaiting police investigation” said Chief.

The girl was rushed to Marigat sub-county hospital by her mother on Sunday before being referred to the theatre at Baringo County Referral Hospital in Kabarnet.

She said at first, her daughter resisted to tell her the truth about the blood stains on her clothes.

“When I interrogated her she said she just got her clothes stained after eating fruits off a cactus tree…but when I stripped off her clothes I found that she was bleeding seriously from her private parts so I had to board a boda boda and rush her to the hospital” she narrated to the media amid sobs at Kabarnet hospital on Tuesday.

She recorded a statement at Marigat police station.

Contacted for comment, Marigat OCPD Otulia Kaunya declined to disclose the information to the media.

‘I Will Still Go To Heaven’ Says Man Who Was Jailed For Defiling His 11-year-old Daughter

A 43-year-old school teacher has been imprisoned for life for incest and defiling his 11-year-old daughter.

The man is accused of committing the offence on June 10 at his home in Kibokoni area of Malindi subcounty.

He rejected the verdict and told the court that even if he dies in prison, he will still go to heaven.

During sentencing, the father asked the court to read a Bible verse.

Chief magistrate Julie Oseko denies him his request and noted he had committed a serious offence.

“He is a teacher and has also put the lives of other children at risk. He does not deserve to return to the community … the court will therefore give a deterrent sentence,” she said.

The magistrate said although the penalty attracts 10 years, the court will give the man the maximum sentence.

Oseko said the accused has a right to appeal in 14 days if unhappy with the verdict.

Man Who Raped His Daughters Has Life Imprisonment Sentence Reduced To 20 Years Jail Term

A 73 years old defilement convict got a reprieve after the high court in Murang’a reduced his sentence from life imprisonment to a 20 years jail term.

Kamau Chege had been convicted of defiling his two daughters on February 10, 2012 at Gitugu village in Kangema, Murang’a County and was serving his sentence at Kamiti Maximum Prison.

The girls were aged 16 and 17 years and were in standard 6 and 7.

Chege had filed an appeal seeking to have the life imprisonment reduced and had already served 5 years of his sentence.

While reading the judgment, Judge Hatari Waweru on Friday said the prisoner’s age was not considered when he was handed the life imprisonment sentence.

Waweru said the Kangema magistrate’s court gave the sentence on September 13, 2012 based on his two counts of defilement.

He added that the lower court was guided by the corroborative evidence provided by the prosecution including a medical report that confirmed that the two minors had been defiled.

Hatari also noted that the life sentence is the highest sentence for the offence and is not a mandatory sentence.

The judge in his judgement said the elderly convict would serve a 10 year sentence for each of the two charges and that the two sentences will run concurrently.

“The two sentences will be dated from the day he was sentenced by the lower court,” he added.

The suspect’s wife passed away years ago before the elderly man started defiling his two daughters repeatedly.

The convict was arrested after a neighbor reported the matter to the local chief and the local children department’s office.

MURANG’A: 54-year-old Man Handed Life Sentence For Defiling A 9-year-old Girl

A Kigumo court on Wednesday jailed a 54 years old man with a life imprisonment for defiling a nine year old girl.

Stephen Nguruku Wagacha was found guilty of committing the offence on May 24 last year at Mathare-ini village in Kigumo sub county, Murang’a County.

The minor had testified before the court that she had gone to visit the wife to the accused but found that she was not at home.

The minor further told resident magistrate Agneta Ogonda she had formed a habit of visiting the Mr. Wagacha’s wife on a regular habit as they had become good friends.

She said on the material day however, the accused person invited her into his house and closed the door behind her, to her surprise.

She told the court that the accused person ordered her to undress and lie on the bed before forcing himself on her and that she was in a lot of pain.

“I screamed for help but no one came to help me,” said the child who lives with her grandmother.

The distraught girl told the court that the accused then warned her not to tell her ordeal to anyone.

It is only after getting home that her grandmother demanded to know why she had difficulty walking and why she was in tears.

The grandmother who also testified in court said after her granddaughter narrated her ordeal to her, she rushed her to Kigumo sub county hospital immediately for treatment.

She then reported the matter at Kigumo police station and the accused was arrested.

A medical report presented before the resident magistrate showed that the girl’s had injuries in her genitals and that her hymen had been broken.

The report also indicated that the minor had been contracted a venereal infection which was treated.

The accused however told the court that the child was working with her family to paint him in bad light.

While reading the judgment the magistrate said the prosecution had proven beyond reasonable doubt that the accused had defiled the child.

She gave the accused 14 days to appeal the sentence.

UKISTAAJABU YA MUSA: Three Women Arrested For Raping A Pastor

Three women have appeared before a court accused of gang raping a pastor who went round to their home to demand money they owed him.

Western Commonage Magistrates Court in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, heard how the holy man was grabbed and forced onto a bed and then stripped.

The three women Sandra Ncube, 21, Riamuhetsi Mlauzi, 23, and Mongiwe Mpofu, 25, were in the dock charged with aggravated indecent assault.

Prosecutor Mr Petros Shoko said the complainant, who is not being named to spare his blushes, was a pastor at a church in Cowdray Park.

He said the male victim had gone to the home of the three women as he was owed money and he was invited inside the house to collect it.

But once inside he alleged he was grabbed by one woman around the waist and his trousers were pulled down by another who then fondled him.

Mr Shoko said: ‘On July 14 at 7pm the complainant went to the accused persons residence to collect money which Mlauzi owed.

‘They forced him to lie on the bed and undressed him. Ncube sat on his chest and he tried to push her away.

‘However Mlauzi held his legs together and sat on his top pressing him against the bed

‘Mpofu was in another room and brought condoms and placed them on the complainants manhood and helped to hold him down.

‘Ncube had sexual intercourse with the complainant once without his consent’ Mr Shoko said.

The three denied raping the pastor but admitted indecent assault.

Ncube said: ‘We were just playing around Your Worship. I did not think that he would take it seriously’.

Mpofu denied taking part but admitted bringing the condoms saying: ‘We keep them around the house and I just brought them’.

Mlauzi said she wanted to ‘fix’ the pastor who she claimed had a habit of walking in on the women when they were bathing.

She said: ‘He always walks in on me bathing and claims to be unmoved as a man of God. I just wanted to see if he was going to be aroused or not.

‘I did not plan to execute the whole rape thing Your Worship’.

Magistrate Lungile Ncube was told by Mlauzi that she just wanted to prove to the pastor that he had ‘feelings like everybody else’.

She said: ‘I wanted him to see that he was not special and was not immune to sexual arousal.

‘When I touched him he immediately got aroused and that is all we wanted to see’ she said.

The complainant was taken to Mpilo Central Hospital for a medical examination and the report will be prepared for the magistrates.

All three were remanded in custody until August 7 for a full trial.

Earlier this month a 39-year-old teacher was hospitalised in Zimbabwe after claiming a gang of three women kidnapped, drugged and raped him for two days.

The man from Makoni in Chitungwiza was left with severely bruised genitals and doctors at Waza Hospital found other signs of sexual abuse after he was dumped by the roadside.

Police are still trying to find the three women who are allegedly part of a ‘sperm bandit’ gang preying on hitchhikers and travellers and steal and sell their semen for ‘good luck’.

There is no suggestion the two alleged crimes are related.

LAVINGTON: Housegirl disappears with employers gun

The prosecution produced seven witnesses who proved beyond doubt that he committed the offence.

The girls, who are the old man’s neighbours, were under the care of their aunt the day they were defiled.

They went out to play and strayed into the old man’s farm before the latter lured them to enter his house.

The court heard that the man, who was with other workers, left the farm only to return after three hours.

Witnesses told the court that the girls were writhing in pain, and upon inquiry, told their mother of the incident.

They then led their mother and other neighbours to Njue’s home after which police arrested him and was charged.

Senior resident magistrate Vincent Nyakundi said the prosecution witnesses corroborated their evidence.

Nyakundi dismissed Njue’s defence that the girls were framing him, saying the young one had nothing to gain from doing so.

He will serve 40 years for the two offences consecutively.
