7 footballers flying the Kenyan flag abroad (PHOTOS)

Different footballers in Kenya have made it big in the international world of football. From being players in the national teams to flying the Kenyan flag proudly in Europe and beyond with reputable teams.

  1. Victor Wanyama

He is one of the footballers who makes headlines. He is a Kenyan professional footballer who is a defensive midfielder for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and captains the Kenyan national team.

2. Eric Ouma 

Eric is one of the footballers who rose in a short period of time. He started playing for Gor mahia in 2016 and by January 2017 he signed a contract with Georgian club Kolkheti Poti.

In February 2018 he moved to Albanian club KS Kastrioti where he has been creating history.

3. Paul Were

Were started playing for Tusker in the premier league where he spent two and a half season in. He plays as a Winger for FC Kaisar in the Kazakhstan Premier League.

4.McDonald Mariga

He is a Kenyan footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for the Kenya national team. He has played for various international teams but last year signed he a one year deal with Spanish Segunda División club Real Oviedo.

He made history in 2010 by becoming the first and only Kenyan to win the Champions league trophy with Inter Milan under the current Manchester United coach, Jose Mourinho.

5. Patrick Osiako

Osiako started playing for Coast stars before moving to Tusker FC for a season and a half and started playing for other international teams. He now plays for FC Linköping City as a midfielder.

6.Arnold Origi

He started playing for Mathare united before joining Moss, a Norwegian football club where he played for four years between 2007 and 2011.

He moved to Lillestrom in 2013 where he established himself as a cult hero before leaving in February 2018. 35-year-old Origi is currently playing for Kongsvinger.

7. John Muiruri

John  Kenyan football player who currently plays for Moss FK in Norway as a midfielder. He is known for his close ball control and ability to dribble the ball.

He started playing for Utalii and played for other national teams before signing a contract with Moss FK in 2005.
