Champions Tusker Register Second Successive Loss, As AFC Leopards Shine

Kenyan Premier League champions defending champions Tusker registered their second defeat of the season yesterday as they lost two nil to Thika United.

Thika earned their goals through Eugene Mukangula and Shami Kibwana.

Elsewhere, AFC Leopards kicked off their campaign with a three nil win over Nakumatt, Sony beat Sofapaka one nil while Muhoroni Youth beat newcomers Kariobangi Sharks one nil in Muhoroni.

National Super League side Wazito suffered their first defeat of the season as they lost 2-1 to Kisumu based Palos FC at camp Toyoyo. Morven Otinya’s brace in the first half was enough to give Palos the deserved victory.

Earlier on at the same venue, Kibera Black Stars gave away a one nil lead to lose 2-1 to Kenya Police. Both matches were live on Bamba Sport. In the other matches, FC Talanta settled for a barren draw with Agro Chemicals while Nairobi Stima beat Bidco United 2-1.

On Saturday, Kenneth Muguna's 40th minute effort was enough to see Gor Mahia beat Zoo Kericho 1-0, to cruise to the top of the KPL table on six points with the only victory in yesterday's matches.

Newcomers Nzoia Sugar and Mathare United played to a barren draw, while it also ended goalless between Posta Rangers and Bandari. Another match saw Chemelil Sugar battle to a one all draw with Kakamega Homeboyz.
