DREAMS DO COME TRUE: Collins Injera Appreciates Fans After Setting New Try Record

Fresh from breaking one and setting a new try record in the last concluded London sevens series, Kenya Sevens stalwart Collins Injera has penned a heartfelt message of appreciation to his family, team mates, friends and fans following his fete.

Collins Injera helped the Kenya Sevens Rugby team win Shied in the London Sevens after beating Russia 31-7 in the final picking three points to finish seventh overall in the IRB rankings with ninety eight points, with the 29-year-old becoming the leading all time try scorer in the IRB series with 235 tries.

The player was named 2016 Singapore sevens player of the final after guiding Kenya to their maiden Sevens World Series title, following a 30-7 win over Fiji.

In his message, the Mass communication degree holder owed it all to God's faithfulness and abundant blessings since he started out back in 2008.

He also sent a heartfelt message to his supportive family and friends, reserving a special mention to his former and current management for granting him the opportunity to proudly represent Kenya in the international stage, as well as  his team mates for walking the journey with him.

This one is to say THANK YOU LORD for how far you have brought me since I started playing this game, you have been faithful to me and blessed me abundantly.
Thank you to my family and friends who have always supported and stuck by me even when things were not well.
Thank you to all the current and former Management for giving me the opportunity to represent my country at that level.
Thank you to All the Players (current and former team mates) for walking this journey or who i have walked part of this journey with me.
Thank you to all the supporters/fans/sponsors for supporting this team through out the years and making it what it is today.
What I only saw as a dream when I started out back in 2008 was finally realised.
