Funny Anecdote On Harambee Stars Players By Ghost

Radio Jambo presenter Ghost is a revered man among football lovers in the country seeing that he is the last coach to lead Harambee Stars to success on the continental stage. Well, being Kenyan, qualifying for AFCON and winning a match there counts for success.

Ghost coached Kenya's golden generation of footballers and together they toured all over Africa playing qualifier and friendly matches as they worked towards, and eventually managed, to qualify for AFCON 2004.

Being happy-go-lucky lads, Ghost and his team were always bound to return to the country with good and beautiful memories from the nations they visited and perhaps one of the funniest stories is when they went to play a match in Morocco and got to leave a lasting, but funny, impression on the locals.

While there, Ghost and his players decided to take a tour of the local market so that they see what souvenirs they could buy for themselves as well as presents for loved one back in Kenya.

Their interaction with the traders at the market brought out a peculiar habit about Kenyans which the Moroccans found so amusing: bargaining.

Ghsot and his players were always bargaining with the traders and due to language barrier they kept telling the traders "down" whenever a price was mentioned to them.

The traders however insisted that their prices was fixed but all the same had fun negotiating with Ghost and company on the prices of various goods.

In true Kenyan fashion, Ghost and his players told the traders they would return another time when their pockets are well-lined and when they did, the traders welcomed them with a chorus "down! down! down!".
