Indy100 claims that according to a survey by Illicit Encounters, 79 per cent of women and 49 per cent of men correctly guessed their partner was cheating.
The dating site for married people also found that women were twice as likely to confront their husband if they suspected them of cheating.
They were also more than twice as likely to call a private investigator to snoop on their partner.
The sexes were on slightly more even terrain when it came to coming clean about cheating: 85 per cent of women and 82 per cent of men said they had denied their affair when confronted.
Christian Grant, spokesperson for the site, said women trust their gut. Men, on the other hand, not so much:
Maybe it’s a woman’s intuition, or maybe blokes are doing a terrible job of covering their tracks, but it’s safe to say that if you have a suspicion that your partner is cheating, however slight, it’s worth trusting your gut on this one... if you're a woman, anyway.Men on the other hand aren’t getting any help from their gut whatsoever. They’re either completely oblivious that their wife is cheating on them, or they’re more fearful of incorrectly accusing their wife when she may be totally innocent.
