Uhuru Urges Isaac Rutto To Quit NASA And Join Jubilee

Apart from other Jubilee party leaders urging the outgoing governor to join Jubilee, President Uhuru Kenyatta also joined them in urging him to quit NASA and join them.

Speaking in Bomet at the swearing in of the incoming Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, Uhuru said, “We in Jubilee have no fights with anyone. We’re not in resentment with anyone and so we urge you to leave those people in the other camp and join us.”

Apart from urging him to leave NASA, the President also took the opportunity to congratulate him for conceding defeat saying, “By doing so, you have shown that you are a real gentleman.”

On his side the former governor did not confirm whether he will quit NASA but said “I will soon be telling you of my next move.” He also thanked Bomet residents for giving him the opportunity to lead them for the five years he has been their governor.

“I did all I could and it is now time for the incoming governor to continue from where I left... I’m now a citizen just like anyone... Let’s continue working together and respect one another,” he said.

He also assured Laboso that he will be at hand to offer any support and that she will not find him interfering in her work.

Laboso thanked residents for having confidence in her by choosing her as their next governor and making her one of the first female governors in the the country.
