The girl was rushed to Marigat sub-county hospital by her mother on Sunday before being referred to the theatre at Baringo County Referral Hospital in Kabarnet.

She said at first, her daughter resisted to tell her the truth about the blood stains on her clothes.

“When I interrogated her she said she just got her clothes stained after eating fruits off a cactus tree…but when I stripped off her clothes I found that she was bleeding seriously from her private parts so I had to board a boda boda and rush her to the hospital” she narrated to the media amid sobs at Kabarnet hospital on Tuesday.

She recorded a statement at Marigat police station.

Contacted for comment, Marigat OCPD Otulia Kaunya declined to disclose the information to the media.
