Naivasha Mp John Kihagi who was last week deported from Italy over forgery on his passport is now blaming the media for his owes. This came as the embattled legislator appeared for the first time in public after the incident which left Naivasha residents rearing in shock.

Early in the week the first time Mp who had accompanied his colleagues to Rome was deported over forged stamps on his passport and held by police before being set free.

And he appeared over the weekend in Milimani High School in Naivasha during the prize-giving-day but decided to give the issue a wide berth.

Efforts by the press to get comment from him were fruitless as he evaded the issue before been driven off in a huff as members of the public watched in amusement.

While addressing the students, the Mp incidentally called on them to be disciplined and avoid the use of drugs and lying to their parents.

He said that plans were underway to construct a dormitory in the school that has close to 1,000 students so as to keep them from immorality.

"Discipline is key to your education and you should keep off from cheating and other immoral things if you want to succeed," he said.

Earlier, Lakeview MCA Simon Wanyoike had challenged Kihagi to come clean on the issue and clear his name which had been tainted.

"We are concerned by the deportation and fraud issues been reported on our Mp and we are seeking clarification from him so that we can know where the truth lies," he said.

Former Naivasha Mp Jane Kihara termed the incident as shameful adding that the legislator did not have any moral authority to lecture students on discipline.

"We are ashamed by the actions of our Mp and we want to denounce them as they have ended up tarnishing the name of Naivasha," she said.

Another parliamentary aspirant Antony Rebo wondered why the Mp had not been charged with fraud adding that his actions bordered on criminality.

"We are calling on the necessary government agencies to move with haste and investigate the Mp and if there is any wrong doing he should be charged in court," he said.

Others who challenged the Mp to come clean on the issue was the chairlady Maendeleo ya Wanawake in Naivasha Esther Nyokabi.

"We are shocked by this bizarre incident and the only person who can explain what really happened is the Mp but he has decided to keep quiet," she said.
