Kenyans flooded social media with joy and praise after award winning Kenyan Premier League referee, Aden Marwa achieved yet another milestone. He made history as the first ever Kenyan assistant referee to officiate in the just concluded Africa cup of nations showpiece held in Gabon.

Aden Marwa was one of the assistant referees in last Sunday's highly contested AFCON finals which saw underdogs Cameroon come from a goal down to beat African giants, Egypt 2-1 to win Africa's most coveted trophy in style.

The FIFA-accredited referee has had a successful career which saw him represent the country as well as the continent in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. This saw him becoming the first Kenyan to do so in the process.

His exemplary work on the continent has not gone unnoticed with the Kenyan man landing an appointment in last year's CAF Champions League final between Egypt's Zamalek and South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns.

The future is certainly bright for the man who serves as a Chemistry teacher at Komotobo high school in Kuria East.
