Kenyans on social media crucified Norway based goalkeeper Arnold Origi after the former Harambee Stars keeper acquired Norwegian citizenship.

Since Norway do not allow dual citizenship, this resulted to Origi being struck off national team.

The development comes just a day after the Lillestroem SK goalkeeper was among the foreign based players called by Harambee Stars coach Stanley Okumbi ahead of the upcoming international friendly matches against Mozambique Togo and Mauritania, almost one year after he last featured for stars.

Some called the 33-year-old a 'traitor' while some believe this is the right move for the keeper, terming the move as a 'right to Self Determination.'

Below are some of the reactions.

Idah Waringa: We Kenyans are funny. We insulted Arnold Origi last year saying he cost us AFCON qualification & now we're mad he's changed citizenship?

Bob Odhiambo: Arnold Origi has implemented Self Determination in his own way. He believes "Kenya is a cruel marriage"

Mannheim: I was done with Arnold Origi after he miscued a back pass and put the ball in his own net vs Eritrea 11 years ago. Good luck to him.

Ombogo: Arnold Origi ameona awache hizi upuzi zetu za umtaa. Plus, I think this move will secure his future after football. All the best to him.

Lawrence: Arnold Origi kudos for Caring about your future, people like Joe Kadenge aren't recognized by FKF anymore.

Meanwhile, the Harambee Stars team led by captain Victor Wanyama also has Georgia based Eric Ouma, Maritzburg United’s Brian Mandela, Zambia based trio of Anthony Akumu, David Owino, and Jesse Were.

Others are China based Michael Olunga and Ayub Timbe. Alongside other local based stars they will replace the Ulinzi Stars payers among them Stephen Waruru and Samuel Onyango, who withdrew from the list ahead of the 11th edition of the East Africa Military.
