KPL launches investigations after an officer threatened to shoot a player during Zoo Kericho vs Bandri match

Kenyan premier league have announced that they have already launched investigations into the incident where a police officer stormed the pitch and threatened to shoot a player during the Zoo Kericho vs Bandari match, on Sunday.
The incident took place at the Green Stadium, Kericho.
Photos of the unidentified officer being restrained by footballers and officials after storming the pitch took social media by stormwith football fans condemning the officer's act of hooliganism.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, KPL condemned the act and assured stakeholders and the public that they remain steadfast in ensuring safety and security of players, match officials, technical bench officials,and match-going fans during matches.
As we proceed with our review of the circumstances which led to the occurrence of this regrettably sad incident, we assure stakeholders and the general public that we remain steadfast in ensuring safety and security of players, match officials, technical bench officials,and match-going fans during matches played in various venues across the country. The statement further stated that in order to avoid such incidences in future, the KPL body will writeto the Inspector general of police, 'to look into the matter further with the aim of ensuring that this does not happen again as all licensed gun-holders are under his jurisdiction.'

Kenyan Premier League wishes to inform stakeholders and the general public that it has launched investigations into an unfortunate incident involving a person alleged to be a law enforcing officer and players of Bandari Football Club which happened at the Green Stadium, Kericho on Sunday, September
16, 2018 after the Zoo vs Bandari SPL 2018 Round 30 match.
As we proceed with our review of the circumstances which led to the occurrence of this regrettably sad incident, we assure stakeholders and the general public that we remain steadfast in ensuring safety and security of players, match officials, technical bench officials,and match-going fans during matches played in various venues across the country.
KPL will verify the facts of the incident and apply the relevant rules firmly and fairly in order to preserve the integrity of the game.
In addition to that, we will write to the Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service to look into the matter further with the aim of ensuring that this does not happen again as all licensed gun-holders are under his jurisdiction.
