Barcelona were on the verge of making history by registering an invincible season till Levante broke their hearts a week back courtesy of a 5-4 loss, despite them having already bagged the La Liga title.

In Europe, Arsenal's invincibles will always go down in history for their indomitable 2003-2004 season where they crashed literally every single team they encountered becoming the first and the only English side to ever win the league without losing a single match in the premier league.

- Juventus - Italy (2011-12) - After a 3–1 win in the final matchday against Atalanta, Juventus became the first team to go the season unbeaten in the current 38-game format.
- Celtic FC - Scotland (2016-17) They won all three domestic tournaments, completing a domestic treble(the 11th in Scottish football), while going undefeated in 47 domestic games.
- AC Milan - Italy (1991-92) Milan ran through the season unbeaten, a rare feat in footballing history (equalled in Serie A only by Juventus in the 2011-12 season). Its run totalled 58 matches.
- Benfica - Portugal (2014-15) Benfica completed the Portuguese league unbeaten for the second time (21 wins and 9 draws), despite finishing second.
- Ajax - Netherlands (94-95) Between 1994 to 1996, Ajax completed an unbeaten run of 52 domestic matches.

- Porto - Portugal (2012) Portuguese champions Porto completed its league programme undefeated with a comfortable 2-0 at Maritimo.
- Nottingham Forest (England) Between 26 November 1977 and 9 December 1978, Nottingham Forest set a new record of 42 consecutive league matches without defeat.
