AFC Leopards' Ndirangu Among 7 New Players Joining Gor Mahia

It's the transfer season and Kenyan Premier League teams are all tussled in the transfer market, battling for the best of the best talents ahead of the 2017-18 season.

Gor Mahia are among the clubs who have already used their financial muscle to boost their side in a bid to snatch the league title, from champions Tusker FC after finishing second bringing to an end a three-year title winning streak.

The club which won the 2015 KPL league title without losing a single league match, has now recruited seven new players with John Ndirangu stealing the headlines after switching from bitter rivals AFC Leopards.

Gor Mahia announced the big news on their official social media pages much to the delight of their green army fans.

Gor Mahia would wish to confirm the following new acquisitions in a move to bolster the team squad for the upcoming new season 2017.

1. Shaban Odhoji - Goalkeeper.

A free agent signing from SportPesa Premier League side Ushuru FC has signed a deal which will keep him in at the club for a period of 3 years.

2. Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza - Midfielder(in picture)

The Rwandan sensation has joined Gor Mahia FC from fellow East African football giants, AZAM FC of Tanzania for a period of 2 years.

3. Oliver Maloba - Midfielder.

Joining as a free agent from recently relegated Nairobi City Stars on a 3 year contract.

4. Philemon Otieno - Midfielder.

Also coming from a recently relegated SportPesa Premier League side for a 3 years stay.

5. Jeconiah Uyoga - Striker.

A prolific goal poacher joining the Gor Mahia ranks on a 4 year contract.

6. John Ndirangu - Midfielder.

Popularly known as Softie, crosses over from the rival AFC Leopards' den on a 3 year contract. Ndirangu also previously featured for Nakuru All Stars.

7. Alpha Onyango - Midfielder.

The budding youngster has proven to be a talent worthy of capture and introduction to the senior ranks from the youth team. Alpha still is a student at Kakamega High School and has committed his future to the club on an initial 4 year contract.

The list is however not final as the club is still looking to nail a few more transfer targets.
