President Uhuru Kenyatta has not disbanded the NACADA board as initially reported. The Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) says the President just expressed displeasure that the authority was not as effective as expected by Kenyans.

The President also ordered the cancellation of licenses for bars and other outlets selling illicit drinks and instructed the National Youth Service director Nelson Githinji to organized for the rounding up of drunk and addicted youth so that they are admitted into special centres for rehabilitation. President Uhuru said that this would help address drug abuse and alcoholism in the country.
