A primary school girl who was fighting for her life at a hospital in Marakwet after she underwent forced FGM, has died.
A chief and a police officer were roughed up by members of the public as they went to stop FGM activities in Kerio Valley. Additional Police have been deployed in the valley where reports indicate that more than 1,000 girls had undergone FGM on Sunday night.
Area Deputy commissioner Hussein Allasow says they're still looking for the girl's parents, who disappeared after the incident.
