Neighbours told police they had been hearing screams from the house before they saw smoke pillowing from there last night. On checking they found the house locked and there was no more screaming.
It was then they realized the house was on fire. And after breaking in, they found the couple and their three children dead. The motive of the incident is yet to be known. The bodies of the victims have been moved to the mortuary as investigations go on.
Meanwhile, a suspected thug was last night shot dead in a botched robbery incident in Shauri Moyo area, Nairobi. The man was in the company of three others and had been attacking and robbing pedestrians when police were alerted.
Police say they recovered four mobile phones believed to have been stolen from victims from the suspect and that his accomplices managed to escape on foot. This increases to 12, the number of suspects killed in the city in the past week alone in the war on crime.
