Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed released the 2018 KCPE results at Star of the Sea Primary School in Mombasa.
A total of 1,052,364 candidates sat for the examinations- Of these 527,294 (50.1%) were boys, 525,070 (49.9%) were girls.
The top Candidate in this year scored 453 marks.
Male candidates performed better in Maths, Science, Social Studies and Religious studies as compared to their female counterparts.

A total of 228,414 students scored between 301-400 marks.
Over 50% of the candidates scored 250 marks and above.
Students who got over 400 marks are 12,273.
None of the nine papers administered during KCPE period were leaked
