Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has castigated the move by Wiper party, led by former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka to eject MPs Regina Ndambuki (Kilome), Joe Mutambu (Kitui Central) and John Munuve (Mwingi North) from Parliamentary Committees.

Mutua has described the move as a sign of intolerance and lack of democracy, reminiscent of the KANU era when freedom of expression or association was curtailed.

"They are supporters of Maendeleo Chap Chap movement that seeks to transform what has been empty talk and political promises into real change and development," Mutua said.

Mutua has noted that Wiper's message "is that anyone who attempts to change things so as to bring development will be punished so that our mothers, fathers and youth continue to languish in poverty forever."
