Arsenal yesterday came from a goal down to beat German side Cologne 3-1 in their first match of Europa League group stage.

The visitors took an early lead with a long range goal through Jhon Cordoba with the Gunners restoring parity through second half substitute Sead Kolasinac after the break.

Alexis Sanchez' spectacular strike put the Gunners ahead before Hector Bellerin added the third goal with nine minutes to stoppage.

The match which had to be delayed by an hour as Cologne fans clashed with stewards saw Jack Wilshere make his first appearance for the club since August 2016.

Meanwhile, Everton were embarrassed in Italy after Atalanta handed Ronald Koemman's side a 3-0 defeat, with all goals coming in the first half. The loss came just days after the Merseyside club were drubbed 3-0 by Tottenham Hotspur in the league.
