Two men were each sentenced to 10 years in prison for undressing and forcing an elderly woman to drink her own urine.
Josephat Chesire and Kipkorir Kiptui were charged with assaulting Sote Selena at her home in Tenges, Baringo Central sub county on June 27, 2015.
The matter was first heard in January 2016.
During sentencing on Thursday, Kabarnet senior magistrate Samson Temu termed their act heinous "as a result of a retrogressive behaviour in the society".
"The law is very clear and we can no longer allow such barbaric behavior of beating women to continue in our society," he added.
"Beating her attracts a sentence of three years, undressing and forcing her to drink her urine makes it 10 years (total)," Temu said.
He said the sentences will run concurrently and will serve as a lesson.
