A Bungoma MCA has reported the governor's personal driver to police for allegedly assaulting him on Saturday over a WhatsApp comment.

Kimilili MCA David Baraza commented on the Bungoma MCAs WhatsApp group that Governor Kenneth Lusaka performed poorly at the funeral of Masinde Muliro's widow Marcia at Sibanga.

''Senator Wetang'ula has spoken well in the funeral so is the CS for Water Eugene but our governor is doing badly he needs to polish his way of addressing residents,'' read the post.

''There was a lot of murmuring when our governor spoke we need strategy am saying this from my heart let me hope that am not hurting anybody.''

Baraza said Nick accosted him at the Aturukan Hotel reception in Kitale town, where he was with other MCAs after the funeral.

Nick allegedly asked him why he had abused Lusaka and why he commented on the media about the governor before slapping him.

Kitale police officers investigating the matter said the CCTV cameras at the hotel showed the driver slapping the MCA several times and hurling abuses at him.
