Police have arrested three suspected drug barons in ongoing operation against drugs and illegal firearms in the Coast region.
Regional coordinator Nelson Marwa says the two were arrested in Lamu while the third suspect was arrested in Mombasa whom Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho demanded for his release.
Marwa says they recovered four firearms from the suspects house and is still under investigation.
He has accused Joho of interfering with the ongoing operation by storming the police station.
Addressing media conference Marwa said the Governor was never arrested by the police but his intention was to intimidate police officers conducting the operations.
