Garissa University College was closed indefinitely on Friday morning following an attack by the Al-Shabaab on Thursday.

While condoling with the victims and their families, Education CS Jacob Kaimenyi advised the Senate to close the college immediately.

Kaimenyi, who visited the university on Friday, regretted that the militants targeted students.

At least 147 people were killed and 79 injured in the attack, the worst on Kenyan soil since the US embassy bombing in 1998.
