The suspect who is serving life sentence for robbery with violence has already been isolated from the other inmates following the tragic incident that left many in shock.
The suspect identified as Victor Ochieng used a piece of sharpened spoon to stab the deceased during a fight over a ‘lover’ before seriously injuring another inmate who tried to intervene.
According to the officer in charge of the prison Patrick Mwenda, police had already started their investigations following the murder.
Speaking on phone, Mwenda noted the suspect would be arraigned in court once the officers were through with their investigations.
“Although he is serving life imprisonment, the suspect will be charged at the Naivasha law courts with murder and grievous assault,” he said.
He added that the other victim was stable and recovering at Naivasha sub-county hospital after he was stabbed several times on the chest and back.
