Police say they recovered a pistol and all the stolen property from the suspect while his accomplices managed to escape on foot.
They had broken into ACK church along Nduaru Road after tying the guards on duty and tried to cart away the goods. Neighbors called police who managed to kill one and recover all the goods in the 4 am incident.
Meanwhile, a suspected thug was shot dead in a botched robbery in Kibera slums, Nairobi. The suspect is said to have been in the company of four others and were robbing locals when an alarm was raised.
Police say the other suspects managed to escape on foot. This increases the number of suspects so far killed in the last week alone to more than ten in Nairobi. Police say they have upped their war on armed crime to tame the situation.
