Police in Kangema are searching for a man who is suspected to have murdered a 39 years old woman in an alleged love triangle.

40 years old Peter Njuguna is said to have murdered his 39 years old lover Susan Wangari, a mother of three, on Saturday at Mithanga village in Kangema sub county.

According to Kangema OCPD Cosmas Wachang'oka, the suspect then fled after committing the heinous act and has not been seen since then.

It is said the suspect was in a love affair for five years with the victim whose husband passed away 8 years ago.

Family members have said that they heard Wangari’s 13 years old daughter screaming on Saturday at 9 pm and rushed to her house only to find her in a pool of blood.

Mary Njambi, a cousin, said Wangari had been stabbed on the neck and face and that they could not understand why anybody would want to kill Wangari.

“Wangari’s daughter told us that the suspect who has been a frequent visitor in their home stabbed her mother repeatedly as she watched,” Njambi said.

The daughter, Njambi said, further explained that the suspect accused her mother of having an affair with another man before killing her.

The victim’s mother in law Elizipah Wanjiku expressed shock at the turn of events and appealed to the police to bring the suspect to book.

“I want to find out why my daughter in law was so ruthlessly murdered and I want to see the suspect arrested and prosecuted,” she said.

Wangari’s burial is set to be held on today (Friday). The mother in law pleaded with the government and well wishers to help raise the three orphaned children saying she is not financially capable of educating them.

“I am 76 years old and am weak. I don’t know what I’ll do to support these children who now have no one else to look after them,” she said.

The OCPD has however said that he has launched a manhunt for the suspect and that the police are combing through the area in his search.

Wachang’oka pleaded with villagers who may have information on his whereabouts to report to the police to help in his arrest.

“We will charge him with murder once we arrest him,” confirmed the police boss.

He asked locals to seek ways of solving domestic arguments to avert such incidences saying it is regrettable that the minors have been robbed of their only parent.
