Meet 1500m olympic gold medalist Faith Kipyegon's parents

When our very own Faith Kipyegon upstaged Ethiopia's Dibaba to claim the gold medal during the just concluded Rio olympics 2016, Kenyans broke out in song, to celebrate the fete.

This was Faith first time to participate in the Olympics, and the gold medalist later declared her joy at winning, at the olympic stadium earlier this month on August 16th.

The emotional athlete lay on the turf, as reality of her win sunk in.

And now we show you the two most important people in her life, her parents.

Her mum and dad live in their rural home and it appears they may have missed watching her compete and win.

That's because her parents home isn't connected to electricity. Yesterday Friday August 26th, the parents home were finally connected to power in the governments last mile connectivity project.
