Muslim Preachers and Imams have asked the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to ban use of vernacular languages in public offices and public meetings.
Chairman of the Imams Abubakar Bini says politicians have been using the vernacular languages to spread hate speech and tribalism during meetings.
Bini says the use of the vernacular languages has also become common practice in public offices which are supposed to serve all Kenyans.
