Police arrest murder suspect in killing of 12-year-old boy in Narok

Police have arrested a murder suspect in killing of a 12-year-old boy in Narok South at the Narok-Kipsigis border.

The suspect identified as Samson Kiprono is a known habitual convict and has been linked to the killing of the boy and assault of his mother and sister in the area that is currently experiencing fighting between two communities.

Police say the suspect had bloodstains on his clothes and the motive of the incident is yet to be known. More security has been sent to the area to ensure security and calmness.

Meanwhile, the Witness Protection Agency wants witnesses in murder of university student Sharon Otieno be protected. The agency has asked the media to protect the identities of the witnesses in the case as part of efforts to ensure proper investigations.

The agency argues public exposure of confidential information they confide in you may compromise or jeopardize their safety and that of their kin.  The Agency says it will play its role in offering the necessary protection services when sought as mandated in the Witness Protection Act 2006.

The agency wants witnesses in the course of sourcing for information to contact the Agency for protection incase they fear to report to police. There are fears witnesses may be compromised and compromise the probe into the murder.
