Eldoret West OCPD Samwel Mutunga says the incident occurred at Shauri estate and that the woman would be arraigned in court today (Thursday)
The man was rushed to the Moi Referral Hospital where doctors carried out an operation to restore the man's private parts. He is recuperating at the hospital.
Still in Eldoret, disaster management teams in counties in the North Rift have been put on alert following heavy rains that have caused rivers to burst their banks in some areas.
Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan says the teams are working round the clock to ensure they respond to any emergencies as a result of the floods.
Several roads and bridges in Nandi, Elgeyo Marakwet and Uasin Gishu have been cut off following landslide caused by rains.
