The six-month-old baby who was asleep in her Kisumu home, when police broke in and beat her and the mother has died.

Baby Samantha Pendo who was hospitalized in a coma at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu, died last night after succumbing to injuries.

Police in Kisumu are alleged to have forced their way into their home, breaking down the door and beating them with a baton.

Aga Khan medical superintendent Sam Oula said the girl died a few minutes after six o'clock.

"The baby suffered internal bleeding as a result of pressure build-up in the head."

Radio Jambo's Gidi has spoken out about her death paying tribute to the baby. He said:

'Next week, Monday the 21 August, my daughter Marie-Rose turns 15 Months. I have documented all her milestones and development with photos and videos ever since she was born.

By 6 months Marie-Rose could sit up, laughs out loud a lot, smiles, and squeals. This is also the stage where she could say words like "ba" and "da" and babbles back and forth. It is a stage where every Parent begin to have the real connection with their baby

When I recieved news about the six months old baby Samantha Pendo who was clobbered by police in Kisumu, I went back to my daughters photos at six months, just to get a feel of the magnitude of such an act. It is devastating, it is painful that someone can raise his hands and hit such an angel on the head with a button.

Samantha Pendo succumbed to her injuries, she’s no more. I can’t imagine what her parents are feeling. No amount of explanations can justify Police beating up a six months old baby. This is a serious atrocity that must be condemned and action taken, irrespective of your political affiliation, IT IS WRONG!

May JUSTICE be our shield and defender, RIP Baby Samantha. God will revenge for you'
