SO SAD: Late Nderitu Gachagwa's Grandson Mauled To Death By Stray Dogs In Nyeri

A two-year-old grandson of the late Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua, has been mauled by a pack of six dogs along Ring Road Estate near Nyeri town.

The two-year-old boy was playing at the home of the late governor when the dogs from a neighbour sneaked through the live-fenced- home and seriously attacked him around 11.30am on Thursday.

He was rushed at Outspan Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

The widow of the late governor Margaret Karungaru also sustained minor injuries as she tried to rescue the minor from the canines.

Neighbors who arrived at the scene upon hearing screams and helped to drive off the dogs.

Nyeri deputy governor Mutahi Kahiga who arrived at the scene immediately said police have taken over the matter but pointed that there was sense negligence by the owner.
