Two MPs and Elgeyo Marakwet Deputy Governor Gabriel Lagat scampered for safety after bandits attacked Kasui village in Kerio Valley where they were attending a funeral.
Marakwet East MP Bowen Kangogo and his Marakwet West counterparts William Kisang along with Lagat and other mourners fled as bandits fired in the air disrupting the funeral.
They were attending the funeral of Justine kiptoo Who was killed in an earlier bandit attack in the region where five people have been killed this week.
Lagat said more than 500 people had been displaced due to increased banditry in the region.
