Police on Tuesday shot dead a wanted gang leader of knife welding Wakali Kwanza after alleged foiled robbery targeting traders in Kisauni Mombasa County.
The suspect identified as Jilo was gunned down by police officers on patrol after he attempted to attack the officers around 5.30 am within Swalihina area..
Kisauni police boss Sangura Musee said the officers were alerted by locals residents after they spotted a gang armed with machete robbing traders heading to Kongowea market.

His accomplices managed to escaped unhurt.
He said the suspect succumbed to injuries while being transferred to Coast general hospital.
